Macworld 2009

This is what I want, not expect.

  1. New update to iPhone OS. Copy and Paste, MMS, more screen customisation options, ability to remove stock apps (Stocks, Notes, Weather etc), run background app’s if the user wants to at their own risk with reduced memory and reduced battery life but at least give me the option, wireless sync and the long lost push notifications that were due in Sept. Sept 08. Thanks.
  2. Apple TV scrapped. Replaced with updated Mac Mini which is sold at a far reduced price. More capability, reduced price, new 10 foot interface. Boxee comes pre-installed.
  3. Snow Leopard – free update in Summer 09.
  4. One more thing – Mobile Me – it’s a great service and we’re really sorry about all the issues. Have it for free.

How great would Macworld without Steve Jobs be if those were some of the announcements tomorrow? I guess we’ll need to make do with some iLife news, some Snow Leopard news and predictable Macbook pro and Mac Mini updates. Oh well. Get well soon Steve.

P.S. Is anyone else, like me, expecting Phil Schillers keynote to be more entertaining than Steve Jobs?

  1. I'd rather have features over space. I've been surprised at how easy to manage 16Gb has been. Coming from 80Gb I expected issues but I've had none. Of course if in six months time a new iPhone was released with improved camera, video calling and a choice between 16Gb and 32Gb I'd pick the 32Gb version. Yes, I'm a tart.

  2. It'd replace my iPod. I need the space. Particularly for Jersey trips where I take my TV. I've stripped my itunes library back to bare bones. 32GB is minimum I can live with.

  3. I've not stripped anything from my iTunes library moving from 80GB down to 16GB – seems silly to strip media out of an ever growing collection to suit the size of your portable device, no?

    1. Me neither – just sync the playlists I listen to most instead of syncing everything. Same with Movies/TV Shows.
32GB would be nice, but I find 16GB a lot easier to live with than 8GB. I carry way more media than I consume and I still have about 2GB free

  4. I had a serious amount of stuff that I just never listened to. Really needed a clean out. I never liked a lot of it. It’s like photos. Last year I through away 2000 duffers.
