A couple of new gadgets announced for the Cebit show in Germany. Kiss 568 – 80Gb hard disk, DVD recorder and links to PC – lovely. And the swiss army knife with a USB Key? Useless, but nice in a geeky gadgetty type way.

Best Mobile Ever?
I’ve held off posting this for a while just to make sure I found no snags with it, but after 3 months of use and an absolute pounding when I moved house I can now say with confidence……the T610 is the best mobile…..ever…..that I’ve used.
Small, sleek and gadget packed it does the most important bit really well – a cracking phone with a really good reception. On top is a fairly good battery life (switch off Bluetooth), great screen, polyphonic tones so that you too can annoy everyone with the Airwolf theme, java games, camera and as already mentioned Bluetooth. The Bluetooth actually supports ftp as well so transferring images back and forth is no longer an issue. Even better, the phone is now free on almost all tariffs especially as the T630 is out.
Mars Rover
Way cool – the first pictures from the Mars Rover are superb. Just hope the rover moves OK after the weekend.
Will Beagle Succeed?
I can’t wait to find out if the Beagle 2 probe lands and communicates from Mars. Considering the risky steps it needs to take to land you would have to say the chances are slim.
But it captures the imagination in a similar way to the first Shuttle launch. I remember watching the launch when I was in primary school. Superb. Good luck Beagle.
The Month
Bought The Sunday Times today just to try their new section, The Month. Disappointing – it’s no better than a website with trailers or a music preview site. No real content or depth to it – I expected some comment amongst the previews. The car advert at the start was also very annoying but I guess they’ve got to pay for it somehow.
